What I told by husband over 16 years ago was...........
WE will NEVER have a dead deer head hanging in our house, maybe the shed but not in the house. I grew up in a military family that didn’t hunt, closes we got was fishing and we didn’t even keep them, and I just was not a big meat eater. So the idea of having Bambi or should I say Bambi’s dad hanging up on a wall just seemed wrong. Yet 16 years later here I am not only looking at a buck but also have enjoyed the meat it has provided for our family. How have I changed!! I know you are on a fitness page and you may be wondering how in the hell is this related to fitness?? It’s about CHANGE. We are not the same people we were 16 years ago, that means that our fitness needs and nutritional needs are not the same either. Yes, there are times I wish I could eat like my teenage son and move like he does, but I can’t. Okay maybe I am close to being able to move like he does, but I work at it. If you are trying to lose weight or put on muscle mass, but seem to be stuck could you be treating yourself like you were still 16 years younger? Many things can happen in 16 years, we have careers, more stress, we have spouses and kids, and unfortunately some of you may be on medication. These are changes that do affect our health. Start off by reviewing your current life to your past, look at your workout program and food, think about making a couple of adjustments and see if that helps you with your goal. |
