Get It off the chore listOkay ladies, who hasn’t viewed their workouts as a chore?? I know I have in the past and there are still some days that creep in once in a great while that it feels like it. When we view our workouts as a chore they are not appealing at all!! They are no fun, I have better things to do with my time, I should be cleaning my house or making dinner, I could be spending time with my family, or it just sounds good to be sitting on the couch and watching T.V.. Sound familiar? Stop putting your workouts on your chore list!!
We can either view our workouts as as a chore or we can make them a choice so we can actually desire or want to do them, yes I said desire. It takes time, but a shift in the mindset can happen to where you actually desire to workout and it is enjoyable too. If we are able to keep in mind the benefits that come with working out then it becomes easier to view them as a choice, then once we see the progress from those choices then our minds can shift over to the desire. There are steps you can take to get you from that dreaded chore to that “Let’s Go Do This!!”. First: Stop thinking of your workouts as a chore. Second: Realize that your health is ongoing and that you have that choice to make it better. Third: Don’t go all out the first day or the first week. Make small changes to help you stay on track. You could always do three small changes, one fitness, one nutrition, and one mindset change at first and then once they become easy for you then add to them. Fourth: While timelines are good for goals, they are not always needed. Remember that sometimes we fall off track and have to get back on. If you have a bad day or week, just pick it back up and keep on working at it. Fifth: Keep track of your progress! Once you notice the difference in your clothes, sleep, mood, and that you are enjoying those workouts then they become easier and more desirable to do. |
