September 13th, 2018One of the most complaints that I hear from women is that they have a hard time finding time to workout due to their schedules and if they do have time they only have around 30 minutes to knockout something. Recently I was asked by one of my clients, during my monthly Q&A in my closed group, what can be done to maximize their time to work towards their desired results? Here are my three tips to answer that question.
1. Think compound movements, these will work more muscles than single joint movements. So, various squats, push-ups, push presses, lunges, back rows, deadlifts, are some to include into your workout. 2. If you can keep it to one piece of equipment, that will help cut down on time. 3. Format your workout like a MetCon, metabolic conditioning, workout, an example would be a circuit format. Throw in some type of cardio or plyometric movement to help elevate the heart rate. You can put this at the beginning or the end. If you are doing circuit, think about alternating between cardio and resistance movements. Bonus Tip: Don’t get stuck moving in only one direction. Think forwards, backwards and sideways. Also, try out any new movements without resistance to check form and make sure it feels right. |
